Casting Arts & Technology Bronze Sculpture

This 10’ diameter seal combines cast and fabricated elements. The central dome was sand cast in Everdur from a custom wood pattern. The surrounding corona was cut from 3/16” 655 silicon bronze sheet using a CNC controlled water jet and TIG welded together. The patina combines liver of sulphur and ferric nitrate to achieve an antiqued look that emphasized the various surface textures.
